A Prelude to Europe.........

This is a local posting for local people.......

Many of you have shared our journey so far from the most beautiful & romantic wedding proposal that any girl could ever wish for, spoken in French, amongst a beautiful setting high in the soft dunes on Kilcunda Beach "Veuillez m’epouser soleil et je promettrai de vouse donner tout toujours"

to the wonderful night of our engagement at the Baden Powell

Well friends - it's exactly a week to go until we get married on Kilcunda Beach - to be precise, 4.00pm on the 25th of February, 2006. We are both VERY excited, only seven more sleeps. We are counting down the days & cannot wait until we start the new chapter of our lives together as Mr & Mrs Lancaster.

We have set blog up so that you can all share with us in our experiences overseas when we get a chance to post them.

Day 1 - Melb. to Tokyo talk to you from there

MUCH LOVE & KISSES & ANGEL WISHES X

A Local Wedding for Local People... mmmmmm maybe special instructions are in order

Ceremony

Kilcunda is 117km from Melbourne, situated on the Bass Highway and is a small coastal town only 10 minutes drive from Phillip Island.

Check your Melway’s, but as a guide you will be travelling the South Gippsland Highway, this becomes the Bass Highway. You will come to a roundabout that only allows you to turn right (to Phillip Island) or travel straight ahead. Keep going straight through the roundabout & as you climb the rolling hills you will descend into the coastal hamlet of Kilcunda with a spectacular view of the beach.

$#!@ are we there yet….. very very close now. On your left you will see “The Killy Pub” keep going a short way down the Bass Highway & you will see on your right the “Old Kilcunda Rail Bridge” (pictured below) which is a rustic trestle bridge on the eastern side of town

The ceremony will be on the beach side of the bridge to the left side of the photo. Roadside we will have a marker of some sort such as balloons or ribbons or possibly a melting wedding guest !

Reception

After the ceremony is over, we will be having our photo’s taken, you can either pop into the Killy pub for a quick bevy may we suggest on the veranda overlooking the ocean which is beautiful, or head straight down into Cowes to settle in to your accommodation. A marquee will be set up in the front grounds at “The Castle” and drinks will be served from 6.00pm. Be sure to make yourselves at home until we get there around 6.30pm, and don’t forget to say hello to your hosts Jenny & Harley.

You get to the Castle by driving back down the Bass Highway from whence you came. When you get to the roundabout take a left onto Phillip Island Road & follow that through until you get to the San Remo Bridge. Drive over the bridge and follow the road straight through into Cowes. Turn right at the roundabout at Church Street, turn left at Steele Street & you will find “The Castle” up at the foreshore on the right hand side

Oh No, it’s a rainy day

We live in Melbourne, so we have a PLAN B for the ceremony just in case. If it is looking like rain or is raining on the day, please call either “The Castle” 5952 1228 or Tony 0438 370 010 or Andre 0418 327 635 and they will let you know whether you need to continue onto the beach at Kilcunda, or head straight down to “The Castle”

Please drive carefully & we look forward to seeing you on the day
